Founded on a passion for premium materials and artisanal techniques, Vellut Leatheris dedicated to creating high-end bespoke leather travel goods. Registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17080179), our workshop brings together generations of leather-working expertise, combining traditional hand techniques with modern design sensibility.
We ship globally from our workshop, reaching customers across the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. Every bag in our catalogue — from the signature Weekender to the cabin-ready Duffel — is available in multiple sizes and a choice of natural leather colours including Black, Brown, Grey, or fully custom.
The Craft & Materials
We use exclusively full-grain leather — the top layer of the hide, the densest and most durable grade available. Unlike corrected-grain or bonded leather, full-grain retains all natural surface characteristics and develops a rich, personal patina over years of use. Our hides are sourced as by-products of the food industry and processed using vegetable-tanning methods that are gentler on the environment and safer for our artisans.
Every stitch, fold, and burnished edge tells a story. Our artisans handcraft each piece individually — hand-cutting the leather panels, hand-stitching with waxed linen thread, hand-burnishing every edge. No piece leaves our workshop without passing a rigorous multi-point quality inspection.
